About Us

Legal Tender Mercantile & Pawn has been a family owned business in Carlsbad
since 1997. The shop is owned by Jason and Erin Garrett and we look forward to
serving our friends and neighbors in Carlsbad and all of southern New Mexico.
Jason is a graduate of New Mexico Military Institute in Roswell and a United
States Army Field Artillery Veteran. His wife Erin assists with the shop as well as
helping manage the online sales portion of the business. Jason and Erin are the
proud parents of a son, Ethan, who is always willing to lend a hand at the store
when he’s not out with Dad on a hunting trip.

Our goal is to be the premier Firearms and Sporting goods supplier in Southern
New Mexico by providing our friends and neighbors outstanding products and
service for a fair price. Unlike the big chain stores, you won’t find someone who
was selling pizzas last week trying to sell you a rifle today. We’re here to help and
are always happy to give you those value added services such as mounting your
scope or bore-sighting your rifle without additional charge when you purchase
either the rifle or scope from us.
